Reggae Great Dies: Cedric Brooks of Skatalites Passes It was reported on May 6, 2013, that reggae great Cedric Brooks died. According to the Christian Science Monitor Brooks died at New York Hospital Queens on Friday. The Skatalites saxophone player died of cardiac arrest at age 70.
